The 3rd International Artificial Intelligence Fair (IAIF) Successfully Concluded
On July 27th, 2021, the 3rd International Artificial Intelligence Fair (IAIF) was officially launched, with the theme of "Who is more 'intelligent', artificial intelligence or human” to explore the infinite possibilities of co-exist between humans and AI. Although it has been a year of rough waters, the global youth still keep the passion fresh for AI. The event attracted 665 scientific and innovative projects from more than 300 schools in eight countries and regions around the world.
IAIF, organized by Shanghai Xuhui District Education Bureau and Global AI Academic Alliance (GAIAA) and hosted by Shanghai Xuhui District Youth Activity Center and Sensetime, is committed to providing an important communication platform for young people scattered far and wide across the globe to learn and apply AI technology, and to pick up potential youth who are primary and secondary students in terms of scientific and innovative projects.
It was exhilarating that a total of 121 scientific and innovative projects from 98 schools advanced to the final. After review and evaluation between 45 senior judges from top universities, enterprises, and educational research institutions in AI, including the University of Science and Technology of China, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanyang Technological University, Peking University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Science and Technology Arts Education Center and Guokr, two projects were selected and won the Grand Prize. Project 1 is Human Posture Recognition and Machine Learning Based Martial Arts Teaching and Evaluation System owned by Li Lufei from Shanghai Nanyang Model High School and Wu Keyu from High School Affiliated to Fudan University. Project 2 is OpenCV-Based Dual Light Imaging Flood Search and Rescue 2-in-1 UAV developed by Huang Pucheng, Wang Bingyang and Lin Yinhang from Wenling Middle School, Zhejiang Province. "
These winning entries from three different categories not only effectively demonstrate that AI can broaden the boundaries of human capabilities, but also illustrate that humans are playing an important role in guiding the development of AI. Science and technology innovation of AI for youth, which is growing at a visible speed to promote the integration between technology and industry.
The IAIF received more than 360 reports and reprints across the network, covering mainstream media, education media, Shanghai local media, technology media, financial and commercial media in China. Meanwhile, it has also been reported more than 223 reports from overseas media, such as Associated Press, Yahoo Finance, Market Watch, Markets Insiders, etc.
Talent cultivation is the cornerstone to maintain sustainable development of the AI industry. The International Artificial Intelligence Fair (IAIF) helps more students to keep moving forward on the road of science and innovation by accelerating the advanced stock of knowledge.
